The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American military car in 1:35 scale.
The concept of a quarter-tone utility truck, as a universal vehicle the Army, Navy, Aviation and Marine Corps of the United States has been developed since World War II until the early 80s. This role was played in the American armed forces by Willys MB, M38 and finally M151. The first two were very similar in design, but Mutt was almost a completely new project. Changes related to the chassis, suspension, gearbox, and differential. The car was also deprived of the frame. It was adapted for air transport by helicopters and had a much better road performance than its predecessors. 151 M was presented in several versions, depending on their role. It could be a transport car with trailer, a staff car, reconnaissance, assault or ambulance car. Mutt could be armed with a wide range of weapons, machine guns, M60 or M240, Browning M2HB HMG, recoilless rifle or ATM rocket BGM-71 TOW. Between 1959 and 1982 there was 100,000 Mutt M151A2 Jeeps produced, which were used in the units of the U.S. forces until the end of the century.
Tamiya kit allows assembly of the American utility truck U.S.M151A2 Ford Mutt model with trailer and driver. Box includes 3 sprues with elements of the car, a transparent plastic front glass, carton for supply crates and decals (allows reconstruction of vehicles from 2nd or 3rd Infantry Division, or the Marine Corps).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
