The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of Japanese light tank in 1:35 scale.
With the end of World War II, frictions on the USSR line was becoming increasingly visible. The vision of a new conflict between the two Forces and their allies began very realisticy so the new era of armaments had to begin. Tanks that could not compete with their Soviet counterparts had to go away. One of the first retired tanks was the M24 Chaffee. In 1947 new light tank was designed as a vehicle capable of being carried by air and armed with a 76 mm long gun. The production of the new M41 Walker Bulldog began in 1951, and the vehicles had fought on the battlefield in Korea soon. M41 proved to be well armed and very mobile but was not devoid of defects. It was heavier than originally anticipated, which made it more difficult for air transport, and its engine was extremely loud, clash with its role as a quick reconnaissance tank. Despite his flaws, the Walker Bulldog served in the US Army until the late 60's and took an active part in the Vietnam War. It turned out, however, that he was unable to take an even fight with the T-54 tanks. After withdrawing M41 from service some of them were sold to Japan, Brazil, Thailand, Taiwan and other countries.
The Tamiya kit allows you to build the American light tank from the Cold War M41 Walker Bulldog with the commander and two accompanying infantrymen. In the box are: 2 elements of the hull, 2 elements of the tower, 3 frames with plastic elements of the model, rubber tracks, and decals (allow reconstruction of U.S. Army vehicles and Japanese Self-Defense Force).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
