More info

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German tank destroyer in 1:35 scale.

One of the most effective German tank destroyers was the open combat compartment vehicle. These relatively simple and inexpensive vehicles could have been armed with more powerful caliber than earlier tanks. One such vehicle was Marder III Ausf. M. The first destroyers of this family were created as ad hoc weapons against modern Soviet tanks, and the III M model was the culmination of the experiences they had gathered in combat. The vehicle was built on the Czech chassis Pz.Kpfw. 38 (t), it was easily accessible and affordable. The main weapon of the destroyer was a powerful Pak 40/3 anti-tank gun capable of penetrating any Soviet or Allied tank. It was mounted in an open combat compartment. Compared to previous versions, it has been moved backward and has an additional rear panel, protecting the crew from a fire. Between May 1943 and June 1944, 975 tank destroyers Marder III M were produced.

The Tamiya kit allows building the German Marder III Ausf.M together with the commander. In the box there are 5 frames with plastic elements, a photo etched part of the exhaust system, rubber tracks and decals (allow to reconstruct vehicles from the 346th, 348th, 561th or 616th Tank Destroyers Battalion)

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.

Paints suggested by the manufacturer for the best effect:

  • Tamiya XF-64 or spray TS-1 (brown camouflage)
