Tamiya 1:35 Universal Carrier Mk.II

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of British armored transporter in 1:35 scale.

One of the most important factors that determined the outcome of battles during World War II was mobility. While Germany and Americans focused on the design of armored half-tracks, the British went in a different direction. Already in the 20's they started small tankettes projects, designed to the different functions, from transporters and artillery tractors to weapon carrying platforms. In 1942, the newest vehicle was introduced to the production - Universal Carrier Mk. II, often simply referred to as Bren Carrier, due to the basic equipment which accounted for LMG of this type. Vehicle had a very good performance in the field and was capable of transporting up to 5 soldiers. Its primary weapons were two LMG's, one built into front of the vehicle, the other mounted on the engine compartment, separating two combat compartments from each other. In the transport version, Carrier armament equipment could be changed to a PIAT anti-tank grenade launcher or anti-tank Boys rifle. Other versions of the vehicle were equipped with Vickers HMG, mortar and even a flamethrower (Wasp version). Until the end of the war, there were 113,000 Universal Carriers produced, which served on all fronts in the armies of the Commonwealth, United States, Poland and USSR under Lend-Lease contract terms.

Tamiya kit allows assembly of the British tracked armored personnel carrier Universal Carrier Mk. II model with three crew members. Box includes 5 sprues with model parts, rubber tracks and decals (allows reconstruction of vehicles from the 3rd or the 50th Infantry Division, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division serving in Europe or the 1st Armored Division serving in North Africa).

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
