The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American main battle tank in 1:35 scale.
Work on the M60 Patton main battle tank had already begun in the 50s. It was first of all initiated by the fact, that the prior M48 Patton, had inadequate armament. Silhouette of the new tank was quite similar but differed completely from its predecessor in terms of performance and equipment. New 105 mm gun, engine, suspension, turret and modified hull greatly improved the combat value of the vehicle. M60 has been developed for over 20 years and have lived to see 3 series before it was replaced by the M1 Abrams tank. Pattons served in units of the Army and Marine Corps, and later the National Guard. Tanks in the early version of the M60A1 was longest exploited in the Corps, due to finances. Command saw no need for upgrading vehicles to A3 model, with attention to the expected change over in Abrams. This does not mean, however, that the development of Patton was abandoned. M60A1 belonging to the Corps are equipped with reactive ERA armor and a RISE package of improvements, with an improved gun stabilizer and electronics. Vehicles upgraded this way are called M60A1. They took part in the Gulf War, proving that they still have the combat potential, allowing for equal battle with the enemy.
Tamiya kit allows assembly of the American medium tank M60A1 with reactive armor, along with three crew members. Box includes an element of the hull, 8 sprues with parts, 2 metal axis, mesh for cargo basket, rubber tracks and decals.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
