The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of French medium tank in 1:35 scale.
In the interwar period, armored warfare theorists have recommended different ways of development of this new weapon. Some thought that the tanks will become the primary offensive weapon, others marginalized their role to the infantry support. This second path was chosen by France. Research on infantry support tanks was most advanced in this country. In 1935, for the needs of the mechanized cavalry units, a new tank was constructed - Somua S35 (Char 1935 S). Well-armored, armed with 47 mm gun and 7.5 mm MG also had disadvantages, of which the largest was the speed and too small, three person crew. As a result of dispersion of French tanks between infantry and cavalry, they didn’t play a major role during the French campaign. Most of them were destroyed, especially by the Luftwaffe, and those that survived were taken over by the Germans.
Tamiya plastic model kit allows assembly of the French medium tank Somua S35 and commander. Box includes 5 sprues with parts, tracks consisting of single cells and decals (allows reconstruction of vehicles from the 13th, 18th Dragoons Regiment or 4 Cuirassier Regiment).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
